Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention to the present. When you’re mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance without judging them as good or bad. Mindfulness means living in the moment and awakening to experience that which is here and now.
Mindful meditation comes in a wide range of forms, from body scans to listening attentively, from walking meditations to sitting still. In meditation courses, we explore many different methods to find the mindful practice best suited to each of us. The gifts of mindfulness are subtle yet extensive. It takes time and trust in the process to exercise our brains in this way.
